Almond bites from La Rioja
Almond bites made in an artisan bakery in La Rioja. A classic sweet treat, perfect with teas and coffee, or enjoyed on its own.
Characteristics of Almond Bites
Made by artisan bakers, we love the bread in our bread basket. The kind that tastes and smells like our grandparents' oven and is capable of surprising our grandchildren.
Sourdough combined with a long fermentation is the only thing that can guarantee the flavor of bread from our grandparents' oven.
Homemade sweets, traditional pastries.

Cistercian Abbey
In 1610 the nuns moved from the monastery of Abia de Torres to Santo Domingo de la Calzada to begin the monastery of Our Lady of the Annunciation.
The nuns temporarily settled in the house next to the chapel of Our Lady of the Plaza, where they prayed the Divine Office. They lived there for the eleven years that the new monastery was built.
In 1621, they were carried in procession to the new Abbey of Our Lady of the Annunciation, accompanied by the Cathedral Chapter, the City Council, the Franciscan community, and the people. The Abbey was under the jurisdiction of the Monastery of Las Huelgas in Burgos until the Papal Bull of Pius IX in 1873, when it was placed under the jurisdiction of the diocesan prelate of Calahorra and La Calzada.
